Among the nominated top 10 CNN Heroes Efren Peñaflorida has been named as the 2009 CNN Hero of the Year. More than 2.75 million voted for Efren Peñaflorida. Its another reason for me to be proud as a Filipino!
He received $100,000 while other top 10 heroes recieves $25,000. With the price that Efren Peñaflorida received he would certainly help many more street children educating them through his "pushcart classroom".

Manny Pacquiao does it again. Last Saturday at MGM Grand, Las Vegas WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto was knocked down at 12th round. With this win Manny gain his 7th title of 7 weight divisions and in which he is claimed as best pound-for-pound fighter in the world. As fellow Filipino I am proud of what he has achieved! It only shows how talented Filipino’s are!
