Miss Universe 2009 was held in Atlantis, Paradise Island, Bahamas and hosted by Celebrity Apprentice star Claudia Jordan and Access Hollywood co-anchor Billy Bush. Miss Venezuela, Stefania Fernandez won the Miss Universe 2009 beauty pageant among the 83 contetstants from different countries. Among the top five were Dominican Republic- Ada Aimee De la Cruz (1st runner up), Kosovo- Gona Dragusha (2nd runner-up), Australia- Rachael Finch (3rd runner-up), and Puerto Rico- Mayra Matos Perez (4th runner-up). Unfotunately, Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Bianca Manalo did not make it to the top.
Among the performers in the event was rapper Flo Rida, singers David Guetta and Kelly Rowland, and reality star Heidi Montag.
