Pissed Off in Chowking Divisoria!

April 24, 2009 5

Today my workmates and I had lunch at Chowking here in Divisoria branch. As usual Chowking is full with customers who are eating lunch. We almost got no seats available because every table is already occupied, good thing we managed to reserve a table for us while one of us ordered the foods for us. After ordering the food my my workmate Angela noticed the cashier punched in the wrong orders so she complained it to the cashier. After everything was fixed, we waited for our orders to arrive only to find out that each of the servings of siomai they gave us lacked a piece so we gave the orders back. Angela was really pissed off because of that experience. Good thing we got her cooled down and continued with our lunch.
Here are the photos of what we ordered:

Pocketbook Addicted!

April 24, 2009 0
I have always been addicted to reading pocketbooks especially Precious Hearts Romances pocketbooks. I like their stories because they make me laugh, cry, fall in-love, hope for dreams to come true, teach me to be strong and I even learn lessons from it. As an avid reader I even have my favorite authors namely: Sheena Rose, Sonia Francisca, Sofia, Martha Cecilia, Vanessa and Arielle. The stories of these authors are what I like to read the most. Each of them has her own technique in making the story excellent and they give a perfect twist which will make you read for more especially on the Series Edition. As I read a lot of their stories I noticed that each author for me has her own forte in writing. Sheena Rose's stories make me laugh out loud because of her funny heroines. Sonia Francisca's books make me shiver with her heroes that are so handsome and manly. Sofia's stories make me shiver and fall in-love. Martha Cecilia got the unexpected twist of the story that will surely make it very interesting although some may find it too fictional already. Vanessa got this extraordinary heroes, she names her heroes with some funny names yet she manages to make them lovable. Most of Vanessa's characters have old names yet they got a cool nicknames. As for Arielle, overall her stories are nice. I have also liked some of the authors in Precious Hearts but these authors are truly the best for me.

This coming May, ABS-CBN will give life to the stories of Precious Hearts Romance series. I just hope they will truely give justice to the stories that I have came to love and choose the right actor/actress to play as the characters of the series.
Below are photos of some my pocketbook collections:

My Guadalupe Trekking Experience

April 14, 2009 0
I spent my Maundy Thursday trekking at Guadalupe in Gilalay Hills with friends. We crossed 9 streams before we reached the top of the hill were the Guadalupe Chapel stands. Along the way we also lighted candles and offered prayers on the 14 Stations of the Cross. The trekking was fun because of the strong current of the water while we passed by the streams and we also got to enjoy Mother Nature's gifts. Here are some of the photos I’ve taken.

Do's and Dont's Before Bedtime

April 13, 2009 0

Having hard time sleeping? Here are some Do's and Dont's for you to have a good night rest.

Do:
1. Set your internal clock. Its important to establish a consistent time for going to bed and waking up.
2. Stick to a schedule and don’t sleep late on weekends.Have about the same time of sleep everyday.
3. Watch your diet during dinner. Eat light.
4. If you feel hungry munch something that triggers serotonin (which make you sleepy). You can eat bread cereal and food containing the amino-acid L-trypotophan like milk, tuna, or turkey.
5. Exercise in the afternoon to relax the muscle and relieve tension.
6. Do a 20-minute “power naps” during daytime so that it wont steal hours of sleep at night.
7. But if you work graveyard shifts, keep window coverings closed so that sunlight doesn’t interrupt sleep.
8. Sleep in slightly cool room, studies shows that warm hand and feet induce sleep quickly.
9. Go to bed when you are tired already and if you don’t fall asleep in 5 minutes get up and do something else. Go back to bed when you are tired.

Dont:

1. Don’t drink a lot 2 hours before bedtime.
2. Don’t eat spicy, greasy and heavy foods.
3. Don’t drink alcohol this may cause you to wake up repeatedly and snore.
4. Avoid addictive stimulants like caffeine and nicotine because they keep you awake.
5. Do not take sleeping pills unless prescribed by a doctor.
6. Do not think too much or agonize on things during bedtime because stress will prevent sleep.

Most of all, Pray. Remember if you’ve counted too many sheep already, maybe its time you talk with the Sheperd.

ABS-CBN's "Tayong Dalawa" Inspired by Pearl Harbor movie?

April 13, 2009 0

I just watched the movie Pearl Harbor"last night. It was a very old movie shown in theaters few years back but it was shown as a Sunday Special of television station ABS-CBN. Before it was shown last night my mom was watching an ABS-CBN show. I was not supposed to watch it but I got curious when the movie started so I waited until its final end. It was, indeed, a fantastic movie no wonder it became a blockbuster hit during its showing days in different theaters worldwide. All I thought the movie was only all about war and did not expect that there were so much to learn in the said movie, as it gave a new meaning to bravery, friendship and love.

I also noticed something in the movie storyline that it was related to an ABS-CBN TV series "Tayong Dalawa". The storyline also tells about friendship, bonding, profession and love triangle of three people – two brothers and their love interest to the same girl. I wonder if they would also have the same ending. I just thought that maybe the screenplay of “Tayong Dalawa” was also inspired by that movie.

Getting to Know Plurk

April 03, 2009 3
Plurk is a micro blogging site were in you could share your thoughts and latest discoveries with your friends and to the world through short messages or links, which can be up to 140 text characters in length. Its a unique journal where your friends and followers could share their reactions and ideas on the updates you post (otherwise known as plurks).
This is not just a plain social networking and micro-blogging, it has features that will keep members from signing in everyday and plurk everything. This is what you called Karma points. This can be done by updating your profile (picture, location, birth day etc.), quality plurking each day, responses from other plurkers will gain you also karma and more fans. When karma is high enough, you will be able to get a grip of those great exclusive emoticons while zero karma points and stats will have common emoticons and less features available, can’t use the WHOLESOME emoticons. Karma values are recalculated every day and can be within this intervals:

00 .00 to 21.00: You are in the state of creation
21.00 to 41.00: You are in the state of maintenance
41.00 to 61.00: You are enlightened
61.00 to 81.00: You are so close to Plurk Nirvana
81.00 to 100.00: You have reached Plurk Nirvana!

It’s not that difficult actually to increase your karma to “Nirvana” (81.00 to 100.00) . If you just keep on posting, plurking, and having fun before every karma update, your points will continue to increase. And I believe two of these karma updates lie around 4 to 5 in the afternoon and 11 to 12 midnight, Philippine time. Karma will be lowered if you request friendship and get rejected, getting unfollowed by friends will lower your karma and spamming other users will lower your karma too. Inactivity for a long period will decrease your karma also however you can now freeze your karma if you plan to be away for a long time so that your karma will no longer decrease every update. Freezing karma is found at the 'My Account' setting, you will lose only 1 karma in activating this. There are also badges which pop up on your dashboard. These badges are plurks way of giving back to those users that have played a special role in helping to improve there community. Whether it be through friend referrals, or through helping to translate Plurk into other languages or from starting any one of the great fan blogs about Plurk, they just wanted to say thanks for members continued support in helping make Plurk better for everyone, new and old.
The following are the mostly seen Plurk badges.

Invitation Award

Plurk Community Site Owner Award
Translator Award
Plurk Nirvana Award

50 Fans Award
These are also some of the Plurk badges, but I’ve never seen anyone having them thus I have no idea what they’re for.
Add me on plurk. Happy plurking to you all!
